Like so much in life, chance meetings make the world go round. A visit to my booth at my annual Barrett-Jackson exhibition by one of Solid Rock Foundation’s team steered me to donate a large metal print of this image for the Silent Auction fund raising bash at the 2026 ‘Coopstock’ event held at the Las Sendas Golf club in Phoenix.
A meeting with THE man on that day for his precious autograph on my original painting was carefully choreographed into his very busy schedule. We found him and his wife, Cheryl casually chatting to one of the team in the clubhouse room and who were gracious to spend a few minutes with us for some small talk, photographs – and most importantly Alice’s moniker on my powerful original which they both liked very much. Of course he had already signed the metal print some days earlier.

It has been said one should never meet one’s heroes, however, Alice and Cheryl were one of those rare exceptions and everyone who met them that day for the first time would have their magic on their souls for ever more.
I count myself among those lucky people.

The Solid Rock Foundation’s Silent Auction reached a total amount of $38,400 that evening and I am proud to have been able to contribute.
